Elder Thomson Ft. Collins Colorado

 T his week has been long and short at the same time. Friday through Saturday I had online MTC and spent the days sitting in online class and spending time with family. On Sunday I went to church and I had invited some friends to come and learn more about what I was doing for the next two years I enjoyed spending time with them and answering their  questions. On Monday I finished online MTC and packing. Tuesday I said goodbye to my dad and my siblings and took my flight to Utah with my mother. We were able to go through the Layton temple which was awesome experience then we went out to dinner with my best friends in Utah.       Wednesday was the big day. I spent the morning getting breakfast with my grandparents then we drove to Provo and I bought matching ties for me and my comps. At 1:30 I got dropped off and said goodbye to my mom. Once I got to my room only one of my comps was there because Elder Waite got lost at the airport but he eventually made it. We...

  These few days have been fantastic and I have grown so much closer to the spirit but I have been going a little stir-crazy as I have sat at my desk all day. On Monday I met my MTC companions elder Waite and Elder Prather-Sheridan and we became friends almost immediately which has been great. on Monday I also met my awesome teachers who have taught me a lot over the last couple of days.  So far the days have been full of classes and workshops and studying. On Wednesday night my comps and I had our first lesson with an investigator. We went into the lesson a little worried about the outcome of the lesson but my experience with the local missionaries kicked in and the spirit was felt and led us on how to teach the lesson. After we got our evaluation back we got way better scores than we thought and let us know we are going to be better teachers then we thought.  There have been ups and downs yet it has been more than I...

On Sunday March 16, 2025 Turner was set apart as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He spoke in church before the setting apart. He did such a good job! I can’t wait to see how he grows over the next two years. President Kevin Releford asked all of us to come into the High Council room where he gave some great advice. He also had a zoom set up and Kennedy Riley and Uncle Jason Mangum were able to be there virtually. He blessed Turner that he would make friends that he would have for decades. He blessed him with diligence, obedience and love for the people.   

It was about 11:30 am when Turner opened his email to discover that his call had been issued! He decided to open it that night around 7:00 pm Central time. We set up a zoom for family and friends to be able to join. He has been called to the Ft. Collins Colorado Mission.
